Yvonne Schoeholzer (SWZ)
May I introduce myself:
born 1952, made apprentiship as a veterinary-assistant, quited the job after two years and work since then as a
secretary.
I am a Rhodesian Ridgeback breeder since 1982, my affix is MASHABA's (unfortunately without homepage up till now).
Together with Hans W. Muller (president of the FCI) I founded the Swiss Rhodesian Ridgeback Club in 1980 and was
the first "breeding consultant" of the club.
My first Ridgeback was KIANGA's CHIVAZ (1980 - 1993), a stud, with whom I did a lot of training. (after having had a
Leonberg and a Bernese Mountain Dog).
He was a rescue dog and participated at the Swiss Championship for Working dogs, being the only Rhodesian Ridgeback
ever participating so far.
I started my "breeder's-career" in 1982 with a female called ESDAGENI TANDA from Bulawayo, which I got highly
pregnant at the age of 4 years from a rather unserious person, who couldn't keep her any longer. She then was mated
to HUNYANI, a stud belonging to Mr. Michael Lockwood, who imported both, Tanda and Hunyani, from Bulawayo.
Later I continued breeding with another female, overtaken from some people named Neumann, leaving Switzerland for
Australia (quaranteen) and therefore leaving two dogs behind. One of them - DILESRIDGE MORGAUSE bred by
Diane Duncan, RSA - came to me, the male HINTZA stayed with friends nearby. Since then I relied on females from
my own breeding, granddaughters of Morgause, etc. and owned a male with missing teeth, which never was used
as a stud. At the moment I breed with a Finnish Import from Sanna Alkio "HARJASELAN KWEZENGA" (a great-
granddaughter of Morgause) and keep a stud from my own breeding "MASHABA's UNGANI" and their daughter
(exactly one year old) MASHABA's WYDJUMA. I normally have one litter per year - if possible.
In 2002 I intended to become a judge and passed all the necessary trainings and exams at SKG (Swiss Kennel
Union). In 2004 I passed the exam and started my career as a breed-judge for Rhodesian Ridgebacks.
For the moment I'm only allowed to judge Rhodesian Ridgebacks.
I would very much appreciate to judge in Australia, but I have to know the date early enough, as I'll have to arrange my holyday,
being still at work 100 %. I also would combine the stay with a holiday - may be together with my partner. Then I would also have
to look for good homes for the dogs during my stay abroad and even plan the litter in advance.
